Gossamer Winds

Gossamer Winds was established in 2005 with the intention of making great music accessible to all audiences and helping the greater Denver community.

Gossamer Winds features Monika Vischer, flute; Wes Sansom, clarinet; Katie Smith, oboe; John Richardson, bassoon and Sarah Stallings, horn.

Focusing on a wide range of the classical and Latin repertoire, they also broaden musical expectations of the traditional wind ensemble to include other styles.

Gossamer Winds has performed around the Denver area and has partnered with such local non-profits as:

·         Denver Bach Society

·         KVOD

·         Augustana Arts

·         Mary’s Hope Workshops

·         Colorado Symphony Guild

·         Rocky Mountain Housing Development Corporation

Gossamer Winds has recently participated in the Highlands Garden Café Artist Series and the Augustana Arts Jefferson County Chamber Music Festival.

"...Till the gossamer thread you fling, catch somewhere, O my Soul."

~ Walt Whitman, from A Noiseless, Patient Spider

A piece of beautiful music or work of art is like a delicate yet strong gossamer thread.

Multiple strands woven together create a beautiful labyrinth on which souls might "catch" if only for a short time.
