John Richardson, bassoon, studied music performance at
the State University of New York College at Purchase. He studied bassoon under
Donald MacCourt. He is currently principal bassoon of the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra,
with which he has soloed in Vivaldi's Bassoon Concerto in A Minor and Wanhal's
Concerto for Two Bassoons. John has toured Italy, Austria, Hungary, Scotland
and England with the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra. In addition, John has
performed with Denver groups including the Colorado Wind Ensembl e, the
Arapahoe Philharmonic Orchestra, the Littleton Symphony, the Timberline
Symphony Orchestra, the Lone Tree Symphony, the South Suburban Community
Orchestra, and the Arapahoe Community College Orchestra. In addition to the
Gossamer Winds, John is a member of the Fiori Musicali early music chamber
group.
